Early Intervention services are sponsored by the New York State Department of Health Services and are provided at no cost to the family. Service eligibility for children ages birth to three years of age is determined by the New York State Early Intervention Program.

If your child received early intervention services and may still need additional services, your service coordinator can assist you with transition planning and the referral to the CPSE. Special Education preschool services are overseen by the New York State Education Department (SED), Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID).
Committee of Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
Ages 3-5

- Speech and language therapy
- Certified Teacher Assistants
- Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT)
-ABA Services (Special Instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis)
- Parent Training Services
Children ages 3-5 are referred for services through their local school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) at no cost to the family.
If your child did not receive early intervention services, but demonstrates delays in development, a referral can come from the family. Contact your school district’s Committee on Preschool Special Education Services for more information. Additional information in regards to CPSE services can be located at:

School Aged Services
Ages 5-21
-Autism & Behavioral Consultation Services

- Parent Training Services
LIDC works with various schools to provided ongoing services for school aged students ages 5-21. Eligibility for Services is determined by your district’s Committee of Special Education Services (CSE). For additional information in regards to CSE services contact your district’s special education offices.
